Academy Juvenile Award
This award is officially called the
Honorary Juvenile Award. It was first awarded for work in 1934 and continued sporadically until 1960. There is no list of nominees. The trophy itself was a miniature statuette, although this was criticised and
Shirley Temple, at least, was given a full-sized statue some time later after receiving the Honorary Award in 1934.
This Honorary Award has not been awarded since 1954 and children are now nominated for the same Academy Awards as adults.
