AIDE-DE-CAMP
AIDE-DE-CAMP is an
independent rock band from
Halifax, Nova Scotia. Fiercely D.I.Y., they have scored a strong reputation for their live shows and ability to write songs differently than the current fad.Members are Joe Wynne,
Cory Bowles, Doug Cameron and Archie Gillis. They have two albums..Dear Skeleton (2006) and "E" (2005).
They've been described as Buckley marries J. Mascus, Radiohead meets Joe Satriani, Brit rock with the keyboard player beat up and ousted, but have most have said they remain in the genre that made the 90's scene popular on the east coast.
Their debut album "E" (2005) debuted on a number of campus charts, in Canada and created an acceptable buzz for the quartet. The band has since capitalized on the access of the web and half force fed their music to remote parts of the planet.
A different note, each member has unique duties besides the band. Joe is a nationally acclaimed theatre and film actor. Cory is readily recognized as one of the stars of the runaway TV hit show
The Trailer Park Boys and is the founder of the Dance Company
Verve Mwendo. When not scolding an audience with his solos, Archie is the inventor of the Gillis Multiple Capo System [
1] and teaches everywhere. Doug Cameron is a tireless avant -garde musician that also teaches, and his parents framed his jazz degree.
Chart Attack! named them a band to keep an eye on in 2006.
