Awa District, Chiba

Awa (安房郡; -gun) is a district located in Chiba, Japan.

As of the 2003 data but counting the decrease due to Amatsukominato merging into Kamogawa, the district had an estimated population of 55,589 and a density of 202 persons per km². The total area was 275.38 km².

The above does not take into account the 2006 merger of the towns comprising Awa into the city of Minamiboso. The merger caused Awa to cease to exist as an official governmentally designated unit.
