Originally released on vinyl and cassette only by Nettwerk. The cassette was significantly longer and included many extra tracks. The first CD release of Bites was in 1987 on the compilation Bites and Remission. Unfortunately, this release did not include all of the tracks included on the earlier cassette release, and replaced "Assimilate" and "The Choke" with remixed versions. A similar CD called Remission and Bites was released by Play It Again Sam in Europe. In 1993, Nettwerk finally released Bites as a separate CD. The CD contained all the tracks from every release of Bites, except "Cage", along with a previously unreleased track called "One Day". The tracklisting for this CD is shown above, although "One Day" isn't listed anywhere in the artwork or credits.
"The Center Bullet" appears with vocals by the Key/Goettel side-project Tear Garden on their "The Tear Garden EP" and "Tired Eyes Slowly Burning" albums.
