Boyzone were an Irish boy band (pop group) of the 1990s. They had major success in the UK and levels of success in parts of Europe and Asia with several number one hit singles in the UK. Boyzone had sold over 10 million records and they parted ways in 2000.

Biography

Boyzone formed on November 18 1993 with their first appearance on the Late Late Show on Irish Television, where their "dance routine" has been aired repeatedly as an embarrassing TV clip. The members were Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham. Their managers were Louis Walsh and Mark Plunkett. Boyzone went on to sell over 10 million records, score 16 top 10 singles and 4 Number One albums. The vast majority of their hits were cover versions of older hit songs and as a result have never appealed to the music critics.

They tried to break into the American market by recording a Spanish-English version of the song Mystical Experience but were unsuccessful.
