Burley-Sekem

Burley is a popular brand of football used in Australian rules football made by the Burley-Sekem company.

It is made in Australia and the Burley brothers began manufacturing Burley brand footballs in East Perth in 1907. The founder of Burley Footballs, Joseph Leonard Burley was related also to Frederick R Burley, the founder of Berlei Ltd, maker of womens underwear.

Both Sherrin football and Burley football must fit strict dimensions (including weight) set by the Australian Football League. There are four types of Burley Footballs - Team, Match, Attack and Premier. The bladders are identical. Both balls are made using leather from the same Victorian tannery.

Leagues that endorse Burley as the official ball include:
* Australia
** SANFL
** WAFL
** AFL NSW/ACT
** Victorian Women's Football League and the Youth Girls Competition (Victoria)
* International
** USAFL (United States)
** BARFL (UK)
** AFL Canada
** ARFLI (Ireland)

The Burley ball was first used in a league match between East Fremantle and West Perth.
