Charles Chauvel

Australian film maker, born in
Queensland. He was the
nephew of
Sir Henry Chauvel, leader of the Australian light horse in the Middle East during
World War 1.
Since 1992 the
Brisbane International Film Festival has awarded a
Chauvel Award to a "distinguished contributor to
Australian Cinema".
