Chen Ying

Chen Ying (陳應) is, in the novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, an officer of the Three Kingdoms Period that served as vassal under Zhao Fan. Chen Ying also served as an officer to Gui Yang. Chen Ying then followed in his loss to Zhao Yun, who had invaded Gui Yang after the Battle of Chi Bi. Chen Ying then pretended to surrender, but failed in deceiving Zhao Yun and was killed.

Chen Ying appears to be a completely fictional character; no such person is recorded to have existed in history.
