Craig Marduk

Craig Marduk is a character in the Tekken fighting game series. He is a professional Vale Tudo fighter who hails from Australia.

History

Tekken 4

Craig Marduk's bio, according to official Tekken 4 story.

Standing at eight feet and as a Vale Tudo fighter, Craig Marduk was undefeated in four years as a professional. His fighting style was so savage that he had caused embarrassment to his own professional organisation on more than one occasion. When he was implicated in a minor scandal, his backers were only too glad to dump him.

Imprisoned in Arizona for a murder committed in a thirty-man bar brawl, Marduk was suddenly released thanks to the influence of an anonymous benefactor. On his release he received a mystery package containing a newspaper clipping about the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, and an airline ticket."

Unfortunately for Marduk, the man he had killed in the brawl was Armor King. Swearing revenge, Armor's protege King paid for Marduk's release using money he had earned in wrestling tournaments. He had also sent the newspaper clipping and airline ticket, so that he could exact revenge on Marduk when he entered the tournament.

The two met at the tournament, where King apparently hospitalised Marduk. King paid a visit to Marduk in the hospital to finish him off once and for all. Just as he was about to deliver the final blow, King noticed a photograph next to Marduk's bed. Upon inspecting the photo, which was of Marduk and his elderly parents, King realised the foolishness of his desire for vengeance and walked away.

Tekken 4 Ending (Non Canon)

Marduk wins the tournament. He is seen standing in an abandoned fight arena. A small man walks up to him, and introduces himself as Jeff Slater, the current Vale Tudo champion. Due to Marduk's absence, he continues to mock him, and he finally challenges him to a fight right on the spot. Marduk simply headbutts Slater to the ground and says his only line in the cutscene: "DONT BOTHER GETTING UP." He then leaves the arena, stepping on Slater's body as he leaves.

Tekken 5

Marduk entered the fifth Iron Fist tournament to get revenge on King after his defeat at the hands of the masked wrestler. Wearing Armor King's black jaguar mask, Marduk entered a Vale Tudo tournament and challenged King after emerging undefeated.

Tekken 5 Ending

Marduk wins the tournament emerging undefeated. In the cutscene he interfers in the middle of a boxing match and simply tosses aside the referee and the 2 contenders. Steve Fox then can be seen in the crowd while Marduk is trashing the arena. Angered by Marduk's interference Steve stands up and Marduk just laughs, a fight between Steve and Marduk is probably about to begin but the cutscene ends there and the fight remains to be seen in a future Tekken game.

King's Tekken 5 Story

During King's story mode in Tekken 5, it is revealed that Marduk's disgraceful use of Armor King's mask has driven King to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 to end their rivalry. Julia Chang tries to get King to abandon his quest, but fails. If King beats Marduk, they are seen shaking hands, apparently burying the hatchet. They are seen as a tag team in King's ending.

Trivia

* Marduk is based from three fighters, Bob Sapp, Bill Goldberg & Nathan Jones. He has Sapp & Goldberg's moves, in additon to Sapp's hulking size, and Jones' nationality. Also, he oftens uses Goldberg's catchphrase ("You're Next!") & mannerisims like those Goldberg does every time he makes an entrance and when he is in a match. Marduk also got the Spear and the Jackhammer, witch is Goldberg's finish moves in porfessional wrestling.
