Danny Graham
Danny Graham is also the name of a soccer player.Danny Graham was a politician in
Nova Scotia,
Canada.
Graham grew up in
Antigonish and
Sydney, Nova Scotia. He attended St. FX University where he was the recipient of each of the Blizzard Award and the Larkin Trophy for student achievement. He later earned his law degree at
Dalhousie University.
He worked in the business of commercial real estate and practiced law both as a corporate lawyer and as a defence lawyer. He is an activist for Restorative Justice and is also a volunteer for organisations that provide support for people with disabilities
He was a
Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the riding of
Halifax Citadel from August 2003 until his resignation on
October 7,
2005. He was the leader of the
Liberal Party of Nova Scotia from April
2002, until January
2004, and was succeeded by
Francis MacKenzie.
Graham's wife, Sheelagh Nolan, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer soon after Graham won the leadership. On May 1, 2006, she lost her battle to cancer.
Nolan and Graham have three sons; Patrick, Andrew and Colin.
