Deane Winthrop

Deane Winthrop was the son of the first Governor of Massachusetts, John Winthrop. His house still stands today in Winthrop, Massachusetts. Born in 1623, died in 1704.

The Deane Winthrop House

Deane Winthrop House - The original Building was built about 1675 with an addition made in 1696. It is currently owned by the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association and is open to visitors by appointment. This building is one of the oldest wood frame houses in the country and possibly the oldest continuously lived in home. Located at 40 Shirley Street, the Deane Winthrop House is a registered National Historic Site.
