Edward Seymour, 8th Duke of Somerset

Edward Seymour, 8th Duke of Somerset (1695December 15 1757) was a British nobleman. The son of Sir Edward Seymour, 5th Baronet, a descendant of Protector Somerset by his first marriage, he succeeded his distant cousin, Algernon Seymour, 7th Duke of Somerset, as Duke of Somerset in 1750.

On March 8 1716, he married Mary Webb and had five children:
*Edward Seymour, 9th Duke of Somerset (2 January 17172 January 1792)
*Webb Seymour, 10th Duke of Somerset (3 December 171815 December 1793)
*William Seymour (17245 November 1800)
*Very Reverend Lord Francis Seymour (172616 February 1799) (Dean of Wells Cathedral)
*Mary Seymour (174421 July 1762)
