Ferndown

Ferndown Shopping precinct

Ferndown is a small town in Dorset, England, lying north of Bournemouth and east of Wimborne Minster. The town has a population of 16,890 (2005).

Like most of Dorset, it has a largely elderly population (41.4% are retired)Census data. On the outskirts of the town lie the Ferndown and Uddens industrial estates.

Ferndown also boasts one of the biggest and most successful upper schools in Dorset. Boasting 1,224 pupils Ferndown Upper School has one of the highest "'C' and above" records at GCSE in Dorset.

Ferndown is twinned with Segré, Brittany, France.

Sport and recreation

Ferndown has a King George's Field in memorial to King George V
