Fircrest is a city in
Pierce County,
Washington,
United States. The population was 5,868 at the 2000 census.

Fircrest was officially incorporated on
September 19,
1925. It is a wealthy suburb of
Tacoma.

As of the
census of 2000, there were 5,868 people, 2,505 households, and 1,673 families residing in the city. The
population density was 1,452.3/km² (3,759.4/mi²). There were 2,573 housing units at an average density of 636.8/km² (1,648.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 87.46%

households out of which 28.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% were
married couples living together, 10.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.85.
In the city the population was spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 88.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.8 males.
