Guitar Player

The cover of Guitar Player issue 101, a Jimi Hendrix themed issue, advertising an opinion poll feature within.

This article is about a magazine. For musicians who play guitar, see guitarist.Guitar Player is a popular magazine for guitarists. It contains articles, interviews, reviews and lessons of an eclectic collection of artists, genres and products. It has been in print since the late 1960s and is currently edited by Michael Molenda. Guitar Player is a part of the Music Player Network.

Contents

A typical issue of Guitar Player includes features such as interviews, results to the magazine's own opinion polls and a few pages of tablature toward the rear of the issue. The magazine often includes a covermount CD, which features tracks represented in the tablature section. Issues are often "themed", in which the majority of features would be about, or revolve around, a single guitarist or band.

Guitar Player TV

In May of 2006 the Music Player Network partnered with TrueFire TV to launch an internet-based television station for guitarists. It provides content similar to that of the magazine such as interviews and lessons. Guitar Player TV is provided at no cost to the user due to advertising and sponsorship.[1]
