Hansaviertel

Hansaviertel is a quarter in the Tiergarten borough of Berlin. It was almost completely destroyed during World War II, but it was rebuilt from 1957 to 1961 as a project of international master architects (Alvar Aalto, Egon Eiermann, Walter Gropius, Oscar Niemeyer, etc.) called "Interbau". The whole ensemble is now protected as a historic monument.

The Hansaplatz is located at the center of the quarter. There you find a small shopping arcade, a subway station and also the Grips-Theater. Schloss Bellevue is nearby.
