Written by Alex Sadkin and Mick Jones it was the lead single from the album Agent Provocateur. The song features backing vocals from the New Jersey Mass Choir and Jennifer Holliday. It reached number one in the UK singles chart on January 13 1985 and stayed there for three weeks, reaching the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on February 2, 1985 where it stayed for two weeks. It was Foreigner's only chart-topper in both countries.
