Fried Green Tomatoes loosely based around the landmark
Whistle Stop Cafe and the city by native

census of 2000, there were 9,813 people, 4,019 households, and 2,736 families residing in the city. The
population density was 422.4/km² (1,094.0/mi²). There were 4,212 housing units at an average density of 181.3/km² (469.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 71.69%
