Isabel Allende Bussi

María Isabel Allende Bussi (born January 18 1945) is a Chilean Socialist politician and deputy since 1990. She is the daughter of former president of Chile Salvador Allende, and his wife, Hortensia Bussi.

Following Allende's father death, she fled to Cuba with her mother and two sisters. From there to Mexico, where she spent 16 years of exile before returning to Chile in 1989 as Pinochet's rule was ending.

After Chile returned to democracy in 1990, Allende became a member of the lower chamber of parliament, and subsequently presided that legislative body.
