Jackie Woodburne
Jackie Woodburne (born
5 February 1957, in
Carrickfergus,
County Antrim,
Northern Ireland) is an
Australian actress. She has been in many of Australia's most popular television soap operas, such as
Sons and Daughters,
A Country Practice and
The Young Doctors (
Maggie Gordon).
However, her most memorable roles are Julie Egbert in
Prisoner, whom she played from
1985-
1986, and Susan Kennedy (later Smith, now Kinski) in
Neighbours, whom she has played since
1994.
In
2005, Woodburne was nominated for the Best Female Performance in a Soap Opera award at the
Rose d'Or television festival.
She is an honorary member of the Junior Common Room of
St Hilda's College, Oxford and the character of Susan Kennedy was recently granted honorary membership of
Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. She has been reported to be in a long-term same-sex relationship but has not confirmed this.
