James Keach
James Keach (born
December 7,
1947 in
Savannah,
Georgia) is an
American actor,
producer, and
director. He is the younger brother of
actor Stacy Keach.
Keach received his undergraduate degree from
Northwestern University, M.F.A. from the
Yale School of Drama, and is also a classically trained
Shakespearean actor.
Keach portrayed
Jesse James in the 1980 film
The Long Riders, a film which he co-wrote and produced.
Johnny Cash was so taken by the film that he and
June Carter became close friends with Keach and his wife, actress
Jane Seymour. Cash also asked Keach to be involved in the development of
Walk the Line, which Keach produced [
1].
He was the
director of the
1993 TV series and
1999 movie
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman which is how he met Seymour, who starred as Dr. Quinn.
