Jamie Shanahan

Jamie Shanahan (born December 6, 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer.

He played with Hobart Tigers in Tasmania, then also spent some time with Fitzroy pre-season in 1986. (at least one game at North Hobart). He later played for Hobart under Peter Hudson, and became a Police Officer in Tasmania, when he was granted extended leave to play AFL.

Debuting in 1992 with the St Kilda Football Club, he was a tall, solid defender. His peak came in 1997 with the Saints when he performed brilliantly at full-back, however during the 1997 AFL Grand Final he suffered from a goal onslaught from Darren Jarman. At the end of the year he moved to the Melbourne Football Club where he played out his career and retired at the end of 2000.
