Kamran Abbasi

Kamran Abbasi (Born 7 August 1968) is a medical editor, and is currently editor of the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine and medical director of the UK-based independent health information company, Dr Foster.

Formerly, Dr Abbasi was the acting editor of the British Medical Journal and of the Bulletin of the World Health Organization.

Biography

Kamran Abbasi qualified in medicine from Leeds University in 1992. He trained in internal medicine in Yorkshire and London, and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians. He developed his journalistic skills under the guidance of former British Medical Journal editor Richard Smith. In addition, he is a world renowned cricket writer for Wisden and Cricinfo.com with a particular expertise in Pakistani cricket and the politics of cricket.
