United States. The population was 323 at the 2000 census.

As of the
census of 2000, there were 323 people, 135 households, and 91 families residing in the town. The
population density was 24.8/km² (64.4/mi²). There were 147 housing units at an average density of 11.3/km² (29.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 65.33%
White, 29.41%
African American, 2.17% from
other races, and 3.10% from two or more races.
Hispanic or
Latino of any race were 2.79% of the population.
There were 135 households out of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% were
married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families. 29.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.96.
In the town the population was spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 90.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.1 males.
