List of ancient Jedi

This article is about Ancient Jedi from the fictional Star Wars Expanded Universe, which existed roughly 4000 BBY

Atris

Atris is a white-haired female Jedi Master from the videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

She is one of the few surviving Jedi, most of the rest having fallen to the Sith Lords Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion, and their army of Sith assassins. She has taken refuge under a polar ice cap on the planet Telos, where she has hidden most of the Jedi's valuable artifacts and resources, such as Sith Holocrons. She sought to remedy what she saw as a fundamental flaw of the Jedi Order: the lack of any mechanism to prevent Jedi from falling to the Dark Side, and repeatedly wreaking havoc on the galaxy. To that end, she trained a group of half-sisters, specially equipped and trained to resist Force powers and if necessary use their Echani combat skills to subdue wayward Jedi. It was possible in Knights of the Old Republic 2 to have one of these Handmaidens in your party. Atris planned to eventually rebuild the Jedi Order, but she became corrupted by her own arrogance and by delving into the forbidden knowledge of her collection of Sith Holocrons.

If The Jedi Exile followed the Lightside, he redeems her. But if he is seduced by the darkside, Atris is killed by The Exile.

Baas, Bodo

Bodo Baas was a Jedi Master and a Gatekeeper of the Holocron that Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa-Solo retrieve from the reborn Emperor Palpatine, and which was eventually destroyed on Yavin 4 by the spirit of Exar Kun.

Bodo Baas was part of a Jedi group that lived in the Adega system, six hundred years before the destruction of the first Death Star. Eventually becoming a Jedi Master, Bodo inherited a Jedi Holocron, a glowing cube which held stories of Jedi of the past. Master Bodo recorded his stories and those of other Jedi onto the Holocron so that future generations of Jedi could use their knowledge and benefit from the wealth of experience contained within.

A Holocron can only be activated by the touch of a Force user; once activated a "Gatekeeper" would tell stories of ancient Jedi and give lessons on the Force. The Gatekeeper could interact with the user and could answer questions with related stories. Bodo Baas became the Gatekeeper for his Holocron.

During the great purge of the Jedi, Emperor Palpatine had Bodo Baas executed for "crimes against the Empire" and the Holocron was taken to Wayland. Though the Emperor could listen to most of the stories contained within the Holocron, he could not access those stories only reserved for Jedi using the Light side of the Force.

Bodo Baas was a descendant of the Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas, who was a contemporary of the Jedi Master Arca Jeth, about 4,000 years before the Galactic Civil War.

Baas, Vodo-Siosk

Bindo, Jolee

Jolee Bindo was featured in the 2003 videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Revan, in his quest with Bastila Shan to rediscover the Rakata Star Maps and stop Darth Malak, finds the old Jedi in the Shadowlands of the planet Kashyyyk. After helping Jolee scare off Czerka Corporation hunters, he joins Revan's party. Despite his ornery and seemingly apathetic nature in the beginning of the game, Jolee possesses a calm wisdom and a courageous heart. He is a Jedi Consular, one of the three classes of Jedi made available when one undergoes Jedi training on Dantooine.

Bindo was a Jedi who was able to see the "grey areas" in morality. He engaged in many activities frowned upon by the Jedi (such as smuggling) in order to help the less fortunate. His ship was shot down during a smuggling run by a Force-sensitive woman, Nayama. Bindo fell in love with Nayama, and during his escape, "convinced" her to come with him and learn the ways of the Force. He taught her against the will of the Jedi Council, and eventually married (which also went strongly against the Jedi teachings of the time). Shortly thereafter his wife, untrained by a true master, fell to the Dark Side. She was not slain, however, as Jolee couldn't summon up the will to do so. She was killed later during the war after killing many other Jedi. When the Jedi Council decided to make him a Jedi Master after learning his lesson, Jolee, furious over their ignorance to give him the status after betraying their trust, and fled to space. After a few years he settled on Kashyyyk, the wookie home world.

Bnar, Ood

Boda, Ashka

Ashka Boda was an ancient Jedi Master who was murdered during the Great Jedi Purge. He was the holder of an ancient Holocron, of which Vodo-Siosk Baas was the Gatekeeper, at that time. Emperor Palpatine took control of the Holocron and stole its secrets. Later, Leia Organa stole this artifact from the resurrected Emperor, and gave it to her brother Luke for use in his Academy. It was later destroyed by the spirit of Exar Kun.

Chamma

Chamma was a Jedi Master who taught just prior to the Great Sith War. Andur Sunrider was initially apprenticed to him. Little is known about this mysterious Jedi.

Diath, Sidonra

Sidonra Diath was an ancient Jedi Master and leader of the Republic Senate, he was born in a failed mining colony on the planet Tatooine. He rose to power during the Great Sith War. He was also the father of Jedi Knight Dace Diath, who was killed in the Sith War of Exar Kun when the Cron Cluster exploded, also ravaging nearby Ossus.

Mical

Dominus

Dominus was a Jedi Master several thousand years BBY. This ancient Jedi Master was the teacher of Zona Luka, until she killed him while under the commanding spell of Exar Kun's Sith powers.

Dorak

Master Dorak is a Jedi Master from the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Dorak is one of the Masters on the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine alongside Masters Zhar, Vandar, and Vrook. His role is of the Archivist of the Jedi Archives on Dantooine. He is also the character that the player character speaks to in order to choose his Jedi class. After having consulted the Jedi Archives about the Star Forge yet having found nothing of relevance, he confesses to total bafflement.

In the sequel of the game, the player learns through a dialogue with Kreia that Dorak is killed after the Sith Lord Darth Nihilus destroys the world of Katarr through his hunger for the Force.

Dur, Jaled

Jedi Master Jaled Dur existed during the Old Republic. He is credited with the creation of the Heart of the Universe.

Ell, Zez-Kai

Zez-Kai Ell was a Jedi Master and Council member during the Mandalorian War and the Jedi Civil War. He was one of the several Council members who banished the Jedi Exile after the Exile returned from the Mandalorian Wars. After the Jedi Civil War had ended, Zez-Kai Ell was one of the few Jedi who did not go to the doomed Miraluka world of Katarr to the last Jedi Council, and subsequently escaped death.

When the Jedi Council disbanded, Zez-Kai-Ell went to Nar Shaddaa, the Smuggler's Moon. He hid in the densely populated moon for a time. Then, five years after the end of the Jedi Civil War, the Exile arrived.

Zez-Kai Ell was one of the more thoughtful and introspected masters seen during the period in which the games are set, he is quick to blame the Jedi council for the constant wars which have torn apart the republic and no longer considers himself a Jedi, claiming to have left the order in disgust, both at the Jedi and himself. Indeed, when you meet him he appears to have fallen into despression, displaying something close to a death wish at times. Despite this he is still loyal to his old friends and continues to trust in Master Kavar's wisdom until the end, whichever it might be. He carried a purple double bladed lightsaber.

Canonical Light Side Story

After a chaotic meeting with various crime bosses, the Exile meets with Zez-Kai Ell due in part to Mira, a bounty hunter and friend of Zez-Kai Ell. The Exile questions Zez-Kai Ell and petitions him to go to Dantooine and wait there.

Zez-Kai Ell is a very understanding Jedi who blames the Council's arrogance for the many Jedi who have turned to the Dark side. He always said the Council was too quick to cast blame on others and failed to seek understanding. He admires the way the Exile has truly lived the life of Jedi and helped the refugees of Nar Shaddaa while he hid in his own self-implaced exile.

After bringing the council back together, the Exile meets them at the Dantooine Enclave. The Masters judge the Exile again and attempt to cut him/her off from the Force in order to save the Jedi from the ravages of Darth Nihilus. But the shadowy Kreia (or more correctly, Darth Traya), enters the Enclave and uses an ancient Sith technique to kill Zez-Kai Ell and his fellow Jedi Masters. If the Exile inspects their bodies afterwards, it becomes clear that she has stripped the Jedi Masters of the Force. Depending on the class you chose, he teaches either lightsaber Form IV (Ataru), Form VII (Juyo), or a technique to increase your force powers.

Dark Side Story

After a chaotic meeting with various crime bosses, the Exile meets with Zez-Kai Ell due in part to the tracking skills of a Wookiee named Hanharr. However, the Jedi Exile, touched by the dark side, enacts his revenge on Zez-Kai Ell for his banishment. The Jedi Master is unable to prevent his own demise as the Exile strikes him down. During the fight, the Exile learns Zez-Kai Ell's lightsaber form, enhancing his abilities. After the fight is over, the slain Master's soul is absorbed to feed the Exile's force power.

Garnoo

Garnoo was a Jedi Master from ancient times (several thousand years BBY).

A Neti Jedi Master, Garnoo was first master of Oss Willum.

Gra'aton

Gra'aton was an ancient Jedi Master who worked with Yoda and Vulaton on Dathomir to try and save the Chu'unthor.

Grahrk, Dvakvar

Dvakvar Grahrk is a non-canonical character initially planned to be featured in the videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Dvakvar was cut out during development and was replaced later by another character, the Disciple. According to the description found on the Prima Guide, he was a Devaronian Jedi and a Sith Hunter, who reached the planet Korriban to hunt down the Sith and Dark Jedi he would find there. Unfortunately, he started turning slowly to the dark side, due to the influent dark energy of the Valley of the Dark Lords. He would then be saved by the Jedi Exile and would become a party member.

Dvakvar's surname suggests that he might be an ancestor of another Devaronian, Vilmarh Grahrk.

Han Saresh, Guun

Guun Han Saresh was a Twi'lek Jedi Knight in the Old Republic, one of three specially-appointed Jedi who were sent out to continue the Great Hunt after the defeat of Exar Kun. He and Duron Qel-Droma and Shaela Nur were sent to Korriban to hunt down and destroy terentatek beasts. It was believed that these three Jedi, who were strong in the Force, would be able to support each other against the lure of the Dark side. Unfortunately, the three were estranged during their journey when Duron and Shaela fell in love. Guun Han let his self-righteousness and pride blind him as he condemned their affair, convinced that the two 'fools', governed by passion, would fall to the Dark side. He manipulated Sith apprentices into giving him information about the terentatek and left Korriban without his companions, journeying to Kashyyyk to kill a great beast that lived there. He used bait to lure it out of hiding in the Shadowlands and battled against it. Alone, however, he was no match for the monster, which ultimately killed him.

Hoth

Ikrit

The one-meter-tall, white-furred, floppy-eared creature known as Ikrit was originally believed to have been the pet of Anakin Solo, discovered in the jungles of Yavin IV. It was only later, after solving the puzzle of the Golden Globe with the help of Anakin and his friend Tahiri Veila, that Ikrit showed what he really was: an ancient Jedi Master. Ikrit is of the species Kushiban.

Four hundred years before Anakin came to the Academy, Ikrit came to the moon of Yavin IV and discovered the Golden Globe. Unable to break the curse, he waited until somone came along who could, which happened to be Anakin and Tahiri. Ikrit was trained by Master Yoda himself. Ikrit kept his true identity secret from but a few people, with the exception of Tionne, Uldir, and Anakin and Tahiri. He shared his knowledge with them and whenever possible, such as during their many adventures, helped train Anakin, Tahiri, and Uldir. He was, for a time, the only jedi of the new order who did not carry a lightsaber.

When the Peace Brigade and the Yuuzhan Vong attacked Yavin IV, Ikrit helped Tionne and Kam Solusar hide the trainee children from them. Ikrit went back to help Anakin defend the Great Temple from the attackers. He discovered that Tahiri, Sannah, and Valin Horn had stayed behind to help them. After stealing a Brigade shuttle and kidnapping the pilot, the group tried to make its escape. However, in the attempt a group of Brigade ships tried to stop them. Ikrit jumped out of the ship to drive them back and draw their fire. His gambit was successful, but cost him his life.

Jeth, Arca

Arca Jeth was a famous Jedi Master from ancient times. He was known to be an expert swordsman and he taught many Jedi Apprentices at his training compound on Arkania some four millennia BBY. Sometimes he would take on as many as twenty students at a time. His apprentices included Ulic Qel-Droma and Cay Qel-Droma. Jeth was assigned to be watchman of the Onderon System, and he sent his young apprentices to the planet Onderon, making Ulic his "chargeman". Arca Jeth was killed fighting renegade droids directed by the evil Krath Dark side adepts, Setal Keto and Aleema Keto, on the planet Deneba.

Juhani

Juhani was the second Jedi to join Revan's Quest in Knights of the Old Republic. once referred to as "that cat lady", Juhani was rescued by light-side Revan on Dantooine for one of his quests to become a Jedi. Juhani was meditating on a dark-side ruin, and it eventually swayed her to the darkness. She ran there after she was convinced she had killed her master Quatra in a training exercise.

Canonical Light Side Story

Revan rescues Juhani from the Dark Side. This completes Revan's training and brings Revan closer to the light side of the Force.

Dark Side Story

Revan kills Juhani in the ruins. Alternatively, if Revan saves her in the ruins, he can choose to kill her and Jolee Bindo when taking Bastila Shan as his Padawan.

Alternate Female Revan Story

If Revan is female, Juhani may express romantic feelings toward her. It is a difficult part of the game to trigger, but it does exist. This may also show that Juhani is in fact a lesbian.

Kavar

Lamar, Vrook

Brianna the Handmaiden

Lestin, Zhar

Mroon, Jassa

Jassa Mroon was an ancient Jedi Master who established a training center on Truuine, some 4,000 years BBY. It was on Truuine that Kith Kark tried to convince Master Jassa that he was ready to being the Jedi training. Jassa ignored the Gotal twice, because Kark only wanted to learn the Force as a hobby or task, not because the Force called him. Nearly a year after his first visit, Kith Kark returned to Truuine a third time. He had finally discovered that the Force wasn't something you just obtained, but was something that had to be felt and obeyed. Jassa understood that Kith Kark had finally been touched by the Force, and agreed to train him.

Nadill, Memit

Jedi Master Memit Nadill was Empress Teta's most trusted advisor during the series of unification wars that brought together the seven systems she ruled. Nadill was a regal, green-skinned humanoid with several small tails sprouting from the back of his head. His chin was strong, and was dominated by a large, bony curl at the end. A number of short horns studded his skull. He and Teta believed that both Odan-Urr and Jori Daragon were correct in predicting the imminent Sith attack, and began readying their own forces. Nadill rallied the Jedi to his cause, and led the Jedi forces that defended Coruscant from Naga Sadow's warriors. When Gav Daragon broke Sadow's concentration, Nadill realized that much of the attacking force was illusory - Sith magic kept it and the real warriors going. They were able to dispel the illusions and turned the tide of battle. Nadill fought with the Force, eliminating the Sith threat from Coruscant.

Nisotsa

A Jedi who defied the council and followed Revan and Malak to fight in the Mandalorian Wars. The Jedi Exile encountered her in a dark-side induced flashback on Korriban, similar to the one that Luke Skywalker underwent in the cave on Dagobah. It is heavily implied that she later became a Sith.

Nuur, Shaela

A Jedi who was part of the Great Hunt. Her master Ood-Bnar who gave her the Solari crystal. She fell in love with Duron Qel-Droma. She was killed on Korriban hunting Terentaks during the Great Hunt.

Odan-Urr

A reptilian Jedi Master, Odan-Urr was a grey-skinned alien who was assigned to assist Empress Teta in securing The seven systems, and he was also given the task of being the Watchman of the Koros System. Descended from a race of fierce predators, he communicated by telepathic means, contacting all his people through the Force, rather than speaking.

Odan-Urr was trained by the ancient Master Ooroo, and was content to simply study the history of the Jedi and the Sith before being dispatched to the Empress Teta System. It was Odan-Urr who had a vision of Marka Ragnos' death and the chaos that would result from it. He was taken to Coruscant by Empress Teta, in order for him to alert the Old Republic to the danger. Unfortunately, the Republic ignored Odan-Urr's vision, claiming it was the delusion of an untrained Knight. Teta, however, was not as demeaning, and mustered her own armed forces to prepare for a Sith attack. Odan-Urr joined his own Master, Ooroo, in the defense of Kirrek against Naga Sadow's Dark Side forces. When the tide began turning to the Sith forces, Ooroo sacrificed himself to kill them off with the cyanogen atmosphere in which he lived. His dying words to his student were prophetic, telling the young Jedi that he would become one of the most ancient Jedi ever. Odan-Urr then stood by Empress Teta's side during the Great Hyperspace War, and assisted in the destruction of Naga Sadow's Sith Empire.

After searching the wreckage of Sadow's ship, he found the Sith Holocron and took it with him to Ossus, where he helped create the huge Jedi library. Odan-Urr later presided over the Jedi Assemblies for more than 600 years prior to the assembly on Deneba to discuss the rising Dark Side tide and the Krath. It was Odan-Urr who taught Nomi Sunrider how to block another person from the Force. Odan-Urr was the Jedi keeper of antiquities, and possessed a rare Sith holocron. His possession of the dark holocron did not go unnoticed by Exar Kun, who killed Odan-Urr while stealing it.

Ohtok, Kaah

Kaah Ohtok is a non-canonical character, who was Master Lonna Vash's padawan. It is mentioned in the cut content of the videogame KotOR II, and although there is no description about his race, he is believed to be a Twi'lek. The M4-78 Restoration project, a modding project that aims to restore some of the cut content present in the game, plans to restore something related to him.

Ooroo

Ooroo was the ancient Jedi Master who taught the venerable Odan-Urr.

An ocean creature native of a world with a dense, cyanogen-rich atmosphere, Ooroo was a brain-like creature encased in a yellow crystal which maintained the cyanogen atmosphere in which he survived. Ooroo went to Cinnagar to visit with Empress Teta and Odan-Urr shortly after his student was ridiculed on Coruscant for believing in an imminent Sith attack. Ooroo, however, believed that his student was correct in the interpretation of his vision, as were several other Jedi Masters. Ooroo and Odan-Urr led the defense of Kirrek when Naga Sadow finally launched his attack, but they were unable to turn the tide of battle with the Force. Ooroo, seeing that he alone held the key to the battle, told the Jedi to seek shelter and then cracked open his crystal shell. The cyanogen atmosphere was deadly to the Sith forces, which were killed almost immediately. However, Ooroo was unable to survive in an oxygen atmosphere, and expired in Odan-Urr's arms. Like all Jedi Masters, Ooroo's physical form dissipated as his lifeforce became one with the Force. Ooroo, unlike other Jedi, did not wield a lightsaber in any way.

Qel-Droma, Cay

Cay Qel-Droma,a Jedi instructed by Master Arca Jeth at his training compound on Arkania some 4,000 years before the Galactic Civil War, he and his brother, and fellow Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma had been born on Alderaan to a great warrior family.Cay was mechanically minded and always tinkered with machines. He lost his left arm during the Beast Wars of Onderon and replaced it himself during the battle with a prosthetic limb made from parts of an abandoned XT-6 service droid. When his brother, Ulic, turned to the Dark Side of the Force, Cay never stopped trying to bring him back to the Light Side. Cay accompanied Nomi Sunrider to the Krath world of Cinnagar to attempt to rescue Ulic. Despite seeing that it was too late, Cay still tried to rescue Ulic. In a final confrontation, Ulic murdered Cay, an act that immediately filled him with horror and regret, causing him to betray his Sith master Exar Kun and lead the Jedi Battle Fleet to Yavin 4.

Qel-Droma, Duron

Duron Qel-Droma was a human Jedi of the Old Republic, first mentioned in the game Knights of the Old Republic. While on Dantooine, a Jedi at the Enclave tells Revan of the story of the Great Hunt, a quest to rid the galaxy of fearsome terentatek beasts carried out following the defeat of Exar Kun. After the Great Hunt ended, three Jedi Knights were chosen by the Jedi Council to continue the work of hunting down and destroying the remaining terentatek monsters in the galaxy. Sent to Korriban, the three Jedi were never heard from again. One of these Jedi was Duron Qel-Droma. While on Korriban, Duron fell in love with his companion, Shaela Nuur. When Guun Han, disgusted by their affair, abandoned them on Korriban, the two lovers continued to hunt the terantatek on their own. Before he died, he saw the vision of Revan finding his cloak. Revan eventually finds Duron's corpse in the caves of Korriban, learning that Duron was killed in battle with one of the beasts. Duron was a cousin of the famous Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma.

Qel-Droma, Ulic

Ulic Qel-Droma (4,018 BBY – 3,986 BBY) was a highly ambitious Jedi of the Old Republic in the fictional Star Wars universe, primarily featured in Tales of the Jedi, a Dark Horse comic book series set four thousand years before the events of the films. He was fair and tall with brown eyes and tousled brown hair. Like many Jedi with such character flaws, Ulic fell prey to the dark side, and like some, went on to scar the galaxy forever with a multitude of atrocities. But in an odd turn of events, Ulic experienced another fall—a fall that was so unorthodox in nature that future occurrences were extremely rare.

In many ways, Ulic's rise as a promising Jedi Knight, subsequent fall to the dark side, and eventual redemption mirrors the story of Anakin Skywalker.

Shan, Bastila

Born circa 3,979 BBY, Bastila Shan was the quintessential Jedi: trained from a young age and gifted with a natural ability in the Force that gave her both renown and considerable pride. Despite her youth, Bastila was skilled in the rare art of Battle Meditation -- through sheer force of will she could influence the course of a battle. Through this power, one side was given courage and strength while the other is sapped of their will. In this, a small Republic fleet could defeat an entire Sith armada. This ability alone put Bastila into the forefront of the Galactic Republic's plan to defeat the Sith.

Shatoyo

An old Jedi Master, Shatoyo (also spelled Shayoto) spoke out at the Assembly on Deneba, on the ways the Dark Side and of the Sith teachings. She was well known for being wise and trustworthy.

Sin, Cariaga

A Jedi who defied the council and followed Revan and Malak to fight in the Mandalorian Wars. The Jedi Exile encountered her in a dark-side induced flashback on Korriban, similar to the one that Luke Skywalker underwent in the cave on Dagobah. It is heavily implied that she later became a Sith.

Sunrider, Nomi

Nomi Sunrider was a red-haired, blue-eyed Jedi Knight from the days of the Old Republic, about 4,000 years prior to the Battle of Yavin. She and Odan-Urr are credited for creating a Force technique called Battle meditation. She had a husband, Andur Sunrider, who was killed early in their marriage, and one daughter, Vima. Her final fate is yet unknown.

Terep, Xaset

A Jedi who defied the council and followed Revan and Malak to fight in the Mandalorian Wars. The Jedi Exile encountered him in a dark-side induced flashback on Korriban, similar to the one that Luke Skywalker underwent in the cave on Dagobah. It is heavily implied that he later became a Sith.

Thon

A large, four-legged ceratopsian beast with sharp spikes on his shoulders and strange, upturned mouth appendages, Thon is in reality a Jedi Master assigned to the Stenness System and living on Ambria just prior to the Great Sith War.When he first came to Ambria, the Dark Side of the Force was prevalent on the planet. Master Thon battled the Dark Side, forcing it back into Lake Natth. His experiences on Ambria taught him the virtue of the Light Side, and he tried unsuccessfully to convince the other Jedi Masters about the dangers of the Krath. He was supposed to have continued the Jedi training of Andur Sunrider, but Andur's death changed those plans. Instead, Thon became the teacher of Andur's wife, Nomi Sunrider. Her recalcitrance was broken when Thon was attacked by Bogga the Hutt. In the battle, Thon gave his lightsaber to Nomi, and she used it with unusual skill for an untrained Jedi candidate. Thon realized that Nomi was the special Jedi that he was prophesied to train, and took her fully under his tutelage. Later, he was part of the assembly of Jedi Masters who met on Deneba to discuss the Krath uprising in the Empress Teta system.

Tokare, Vandar

Vash, Lonna

Ysanna, Jem

Jem Ysanna (13 BBY-10 ABY) was young human Force-sensitive of the Ysanna tribe which inhabited the former Jedi stronghold of Ossus (long abandoned after Exar Kun contrived to have it leveled through a multiple supernovae explosions); she was the daughter of the Great Okko, the tribe's premier Force user and [shaman]]. She first appeared in Dark Empire II, and perished during its events.

She met Luke Skywalker when during the events of DE II, he came to Ossus seeking remnants of the famed Jedi libraries, believing that not all could have been evacuated in time, and that some might have survived the ravages of age and the Empire. However, Skywalker and his companion (Kam Solusar) had been followed by some of the Reborn Emperor's agents: Executor Sedriss especially. After the Dark Side duo's Blackhole Stormtroopers had been defeated, the two engaged directly. Vill Goir was swiftly struck down by Solusar, who had trained with Goir, and Sedriss brought to bay by the massed Force-sensitives of the Ysanna, Jem Ysanna, and Skywalker. Sedriss struck quickly, taking Jem hostage and placing a large tree to his back. Unfortunately for him, the tree turned out to be the powerful Jedi Master Ood Bnar, who in a Force-duel with Sedriss, annihilated Sedriss and himself, but saving Jem. Alas, Jem had cheated death for the last time.

The new Dark Side Elite launched an assault on New Alderaan, and Jem protected Luke from Tedryn-Sha and Krdys Mordi (killing Mordi), but was fatally shot by Tedryn-Sha's blaster. Tedryn-Sha did not long survive Jem, as Leia Organa Solo executed a sai tok on Sha - bisecting his body at the waist.
