Macedo de Cavaleiros

Macedo de Cavaleiros (pron. IPA []) is a municipality in northeastern Portugal, in the district of Bragança.

The municipality is composed of 38 parishes and is located in the district of Bragança.

The present mayor is Beraldino Vilarinho Pinto, elected by the Social Democratic Party.

The municipal holiday is June 29.

Coat of arms and flag

The coat of arms of Macedo de Cavaleiros is made up of 9 silver snowflakes with three at the top and another three at the bottom in a u-curve shape in black. In the centre there is a small grey crest with a leaf (probably either a citrus fruit or an olive). There is a crown at the top with five castle towers. The flag is green and yellow from left to right with the seal in the middle.
