Malvern Link
Malvern Link is an area of
Malvern,
Worcestershire,
England to the north and north-east of
Great Malvern. The centres of Malvern Link and Great Malvern are separated by Malvern Link common an area of open land protected by statute under the auspices of an organization known as the
Malvern Hills Conservators.
It is the home of the famous
Morgan Motor Company. One of Malvern's two secondary schools,
Dyson Perrins, is in Malvern Link. Dyson Perrins is named after the family made famous by the local product
Worcestershire sauce. Malvern Link has its own railway station on the
Worcester to
Hereford line. The
A449 runs through the centre of Malvern link. At the point where it passes through Malvern Link it is also called Worcester Road, as it leads directly into the centre of nearby Worcester.
Worcester road is host to Malvern Link's primary shopping area, with a grocery store called "Peas and Cues", a
Co-op supermarket a
Domino's Pizza, and several takeaway restaurants. Most notable of these is the May Link, a chinese takeaway. Malvern link is often home to employees of nearby defence company,
QinetiQ, the Malvern site being a brisk 45 minute walk away. In particular, students participating in the
Year in Industry scheme who have been placed at
QinetiQ have been known to rent out flats above the storefront on Worcester Road due to the convenient location.
Malvern Link has a GP's surgery and is well-served by
Malvern Hills District Council. It is also the location for the Malvern Linux Users Group, which meets regularly and whose headquarters are within the office of a local web-design company.
