Margaret Haddix
Margaret Peterson Haddix (born
9 April 1964) is an
author of teen and adult books.
In her childhood she lived in
Ohio, in a farm near
Washington Court House. Now she is married and has two kids, Meredith and Conner. She received a
B.A. in
creative writing and
journalism from
Miami University in
1986.
She has written a number of books, including
Running Out of Time,
Don't You Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphrey and
Leaving Fishers. Haddix originally wrote primarily realistic fiction, but has recently begun writing
science fiction.
Double Identity, for example, is science fiction, and the
speculative fiction novel
Running out of Time, while lacking any as-yet-undiscovered science, speculates about societal changes which have not taken place.
