Mark Chavez
Mark "Marky" Anthony Chavez (born
November 15 1978) is an American-born
singer of
Mexican descent. he is best known as the former vocalist for the
nu metal band
Adema. He departed that band in late
2004. Since departing the band, he has received somewhat of a cult following, possibly because the fans perfered his voice and hard rock singing style than Luke Caraciolli's softer style. After Luke's departure from Adema, Mark caught up with his former band members and have now come to good terms. They even were in the talks about getting back together with Mark as their lead singer and even wrote and sung a few songs for a while, but for reasons unknown that didn't happen, but the two are now on good terms.
Though there were rumors that he was working on a project dubbed "State Of Mind," which formerly featured
Geno Lenardo and
Frank Cavanagh, the guitarist and bassist of
Filter, these turned out to be false. Chavez's current band, which does not feature the aforementioned musicians, is called
Midnight Panic. The band has currently released two songs, "Celebrate" and "Give Me One Chance" via their website; their album is expected out by the first week of December.
Mark is the younger half-brother of
Jonathan Davis of
Korn, both of whom were raised in
Bakersfield, CA. He attended and graduated from
Garces Memorial High School, a private Catholic school, in
1997. He is married and has a son, Marky Chavez III, born
March 18,
2003.
Their self-titled debut album "Midnight Panic" is now avaible via their label's internet website.
Midnight Panic is expecting to release a follow-up LP including all the songs on featured on their debut EP, along with 4 additional songs and a bonus DVD, sometime in
2006. They have also announced that they have finished their first video for their single, "Tonight Is Our Last Night." The video is available via their myspace website as well as the song itself.
