MIND is an alternative education
senior high school that is a partnership between the
English Montreal School Board (ESMB) and
McGill University's Faculty of Education. The program focuses on providing critical thinking and enriched education through alternative teaching methods, and is reputed amongst alternative education schools for its extremely friendly, welcoming and acceptant student body and its community-based programs.
MIND's reputation stems primarily from the fact that it is composed heavily of students who feel that they are "unusual" (
punk,
goth, etc) and couldn't fit in with their regular school's environment. The students of MIND are known for their acceptance of anyone, regardless of their thinking habits or personal beliefs.
