Mubarak Khan

Mubarak Khan also Mubarak Khilji

Mubarak Khilji (1316 - 1321 AD) (son of Alauddin Khilji became sultan of Khilji Dynasty after his father's death. He escaped an assassination attempt on him by Malik Kafur, his father's trusted general, and was installed on the throne once Malik Khafur was murdered for his act by Khilji's bodyguards.

Mubarak's rule was generally described by historians as repulsive and embarrassing and he was considered as an insultto the throne. Large parts of his life was spent with concubines in the confines of the pleasures of his palace. Hefell in love with a slave named Kusru Khan with whom he was reported to have developed homosexual relationship.

Eventually he was murdered by Kusru Khan in 1321 AD which marked the end of Khilji Dynasty paving the way for theThuqlaq dynasty to establish control over sultanate of Delhi and much of northern India.
