Naruto the Movie: Snow Princess' Book of Ninja Arts

Snow Princess' Book of Ninja Arts (大活劇! 雪姫忍法帖だってばよ
, Daikatsugeki! Yukihime Ninpōchō dattebayo) is a film based off the popular anime and manga series Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. It hit theaters in Japan on August 21 2004. Naruto the Movie was instantly a hit and stayed at the top of the Japanese box office charts for a while. The Naruto movie was so popular it received a sequel (Naruto the Movie 2) that made its theatrical debut in Summer 2005. The movie was released on DVD on April 28 2005. This film was also released in Taiwan on May 27th, 2005, titled "Naruto"Princess Snow Ninja rule". The ending song is called Home Sweet Home and is sung by Yuki.

As a bonus, the short and somewhat scatological film 木ノ葉運動会 (Konoha Undōkai, "The Leaf's athletic meet") is included with the movie. The ten minute opening short revolves around Naruto's inability to use the washroom while participating in the tournament. It is notable because virtually every character, living or dead, in the Naruto universe makes an appearance in it.

Plot

Princess Fuun uses the 7 Color Chakra to defeat Mao.

The movie (which takes place chronologically between the Tsunade and Tea Country arcs, about episode 100) begins with a heroine previously unknown in the Naruto continuity: Princess Fuun. Fuun's nemesis, Mao, challenges her group with an army of undead soldiers. His dark intentions seem to prevail, that is, until Princess Fuun and her cohorts, Shishimaru, Brit, and Tsukuyaku, unleash the power of the Seven-Color-Chakra upon him. They save the day, and Naruto, watching from afar, couldn't be more elated.

Unfortunately, he is only part of an audience at a movie. Prior to an upcoming mission, Kakashi told Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to view a recent movie: "The Adventures of Princess Fuun." The three reminisce over the movie for a short stint of time, and Naruto wonders if princesses like Princess Fuun actually exist. "Any ninja would be satisfied to fight for a princess like that," he remarks. To his surprise, who else but Fujikaze Yukie (dressed as her movie counterpart, Princess Fuun) pops out of nowhere, chased by hoards of Mao's undead soldiers! Team 7 jumps at the chance to save their princess without hesitation.

Sasuke and Sakura seize the undead soldiers, which are led by (who Kakashi arrives to reveal as) Team 7's newest client. Meanwhile, Naruto continues to chase Yukie around town. Naruto expresses his admiration of her role as Princess Fuun and how she motivates him. She tries to lose him, but no matter her effort, he stays right behind her. As they ride on horseback through the Fire Country, a group of children run in her path. She and Naruto fly off of the horse, and immediately, all of the children (and Naruto) demand autographs of Miss Fujikaze. Yukie expresses her disdain for such requests and escapes on foot.

Back on the production set of the latest Princess Fuun movie, Team 7's newest client is revealed as Sandayuu Asama, Miss Fujikaze's agent. Sasuke and Sakura also realize their new mission: to escort Fujikaze Yukie during the filming of the new movie. The "undead soldiers" of earlier were merely master guards of Fujikaze Yukie, trying to return her from one of her many escapes, and the director of the new movie is highly impressed that these Konoha ninja were able to apprehend them.

Again, Naruto chases after Miss Fujikaze. He finally corners her and asks for an autograph. She gives in and begins to sign one. Naruto spies a strange stone pendant hanging very close to Miss Fujikaze's cleveage and wonders what it is. However, she pulls out her "pervert repellent" and sprays Naruto in the face while she rips his autograph into pieces.

She retreats to a tavern where she proceeds to drink away her woes. As she sits there, a mysterious man walks by, but before he can do anything, Naruto runs in and pushes him out of the way. The man leaves the room and Naruto stands by, accusingly. Kakashi then appears in the bar with Sakura and Sasuke. Yukie refuses to leave due to being drunk, having no choice, Kakashi uses his Sharingan to hypnotize then knock out Yukie. Miss Yukie awakes to find herself on a ship heading for the Snow Country.

Yukie is revealed by her agent to be Kazahana Koyuki, the true heir to the throne of the Snow Country, which is currently ruled by her uncle, who usurped the throne and killed Koyuki's father. Yukie, utterly cynical about the life, simply tells her agent he is pursuing a hopeless dream by trying to lead a revolution and restore her birthright. She agrees to continue acting, which she proves to be superb at, because she believes in its falsehood; it is the true way of life for her.

Once they land in the Snow Country, the actors are attacked by three unknown ninjas working for an even more powerful ninja who wants Yukie's necklace, containing a rare hexagon crystal. The ninjas capture Yukie then leds her to the boss without knowing that Naruto was following them. The boss steals Yukie's necklace and uses it to unlock the Kazahana treasure. Naruto goes and saves Yukie and the movie ends where Naruto uses an Ultra Rasengan-7 Colored Chakra technique on the boss ninja.

After the credits, Yukie, who is the new ruler of the snow country reveals that the machine her father made bought spring to the land. But since it incomplete, it must be finished, and when it is, the snow country will be known as the spring country. She also reveals that she is going to continue her career as an actress and holds up a script for the Icha Icha Paradise movie, which surprises Kakashi. After she goes to sign autographs for some children Naruto laments that he forgot to get an autograph from her. However, Sasuke says he has it. Naruto opens the envelope that Sasuke gave to him to reveal a picture of him in bandages getting a kiss from the princess with a note that tells him to never give up his dream of being Hokage. With Naruto lamenting that he wishes there was a better picture. Then the screen fades to black and a man yells 'cut' then the cheers of everyone in the background are heard. As the events that took place have been turned into the last Princess Fuun movie.
