Newington, Belfast

Newington is an area of north Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Newington is a small cluster of streets consisting of large red-brick terraces. It is prodominantly working-class and Catholic. It is located about 2km north of Belfast City Centre, just off the main Antrim Road and near the Waterworks. It abuts the loyalist Tiger's Bay area, and the peace line between the two areas is occasionally the scene of intercommunal violence.

Newington is located in the BT15 postal code area.
