Raven (Tekken)
A character in the
fighting game series
Tekken. Raven is one of the three characters introduced in Tekken 5, along with
Asuka Kazama and
Feng Wei.

An international intelligence agent considered highly skilled and iron-hearted, codename
Raven. Apart from a scar in the shape of an "X" on his face, his details, including age and nationality, are unknown. Raven entered the tournament to find out who or what is behind the event.
Raven makes his first appearance in the opening movie for Tekken 5, as he witnesses the attack on the Hon-Maru by Jacks and the subsequent explosion. It seems he is the first one to report of
Heihachi Mishima's supposed demise.

*Raven is voiced by Jack Merluzzi.
*In a Special Intro between Raven and
Nina Willams in Nina's Storyline, Raven refers to himself as "The Dark Talon of Death!"
*Though his nationality is unknown, Raven is depicted with an
North American English accent, lending to the idea he hails from the United States or Canada. However, this is not necessarily decisive evidence, considering that many characters (such as
Christie Monteiro,
Nina Williams,
Anna Williams, and
Craig Marduk) speak with perfect North American English accents while not originating from the continent.
*In story mode, Raven will occasionally get orders from his commanding officer, highlighted by his encounter with Heihachi and later Jinpachi. His ending, of jumping onto a
Harrier jet and flying off, does not help to answer the question of who he may be working for.
*The tattoo on his shoulder is a Kanji for Death.
*Has a special cut-scene with the cyborg ninja manji-leader Yoshimitsu. He teaches his fellow ninja the incantations of
ninjutsu mantra. Also, in
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection he has a brand new intro.
*Many have noted Raven's similarity to characters played by actor
Wesley Snipes. His hairstyle is similar to the character Simon Phoenix from
Demolition Man and his clothing, sunglasses, and personality are reminiscent of
Blade. However, when
Electronic Gaming Monthly asked if the similarities were intentional, Namco stated that they simply wanted a "cool black guy" for a character and that the similarities were purely coincidental.
*Raven is rumoured to have developed from the character Crow in
Tekken Card Challenge.
