Relief print



A relief print is an image created by the printmaking process of applying ink to a raised image on a plate or board and printing the resulting image onto paper. Examples of relief techniques are woodcut, linocut, and some collography.

Contrast with intaglio, and planographic techniques such as lithography.Thin materials are attached to a flat surface are inked with a roller and then printed by burnishing . Almost any surface can be inked to create a printed texture.
