Rhodesia (disambiguation)
Rhodesia refers primarily to two land-locked regions in
southern Africa named after
Cecil Rhodes, separated by a natural border provided by the
Zambezi River. The name is no longer in general use, although as a geographical term (not a political one) it refers to the area occupied by the two countries Zimbabwe and Zambia. [
1] (There is also a village by the same name in the
United Kingdom.) Rhodesia underwent several name changes throughout its history, chronicled and linked to the appropriate articles below.
In the two lists below, information is ordered roughly as follows:
* Name of entity,
* Nature of entity, and
* Years of existence.
Note: Some of the earlier dates and events in the timelines for both Northern and Southern Rhodesia are currently being further researched for accuracy. If you have any comments to make or suggestions for references, please feel free to post something on this article's
talk page. Thank-you.
