Risle

Risle River

Risle (or Rille) is a 140 km long river in Normandy.

The river begins in Orne near L'Aigle, crosses the western part of the department of Eure flowing from south to north and out into the estuary of the Seine on the left bank near Berville-sur-Mer. Its valley is part of the Pays d'Ouche and bounds the regions of the Lieuvin and Roumois.

Risle is regarded as a coastal river: fishing is common downstream at Pont-Audemer.

Its only tributary is the Charentonne. Risle flows through the communes of:
*L'Aigle
*Rugles
*Beaumont-le-Roger
*Brionne
*Glos-sur-Risle
*Grosley-sur-Risle
*Montfort-sur-Risle
*Pont-Audemer
