Sadr

Sadr can refer to:
* The common name for the star Gamma Cygni.
* The abbreviation for the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
* The Sadr family or a member thereof.

As-Sadr (or al-Sadr) can refer to the family named after Grand Ayatollah Sadr ed-Deen bin Saleh (Heart of the religion) of Qom. a branch of Sharafeddine family from Jabal Amel. The Sharafeddine family itself is a branch of the Nour eddine family, which traces its lineage to Musa al-Kathem (regarded as a Shi'a Imam by Shi'a Muslims, and through him to and Fatima Zahra, the daughter of the prophet Muhammad.

Prominent members of this lineage include:
* Grand Ayatollah Sadr-ed-Deen bin Saleh.
* Grand Ayatollah Ismail as-Sadr.
* Grand Ayatollah Sadr ed-Deen as-Sadr.
* Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir as-Sadr, a major Islamic thinker. He is also known as the third martyr or Sadr I.
*Imam Musa as-Sadr, a Lebanese religious leader and a cousin of Sadeq and Baqir.
* Mohammad as-Sadr Baghdad leader of the 1920 revolution against the British government. He is an older cousin of Sadr I.
* Ayatollah Mohammad Sadeq es-Sadr, a leading Iraqi cleric.
* Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq es-Sadr also known as Sadr II.
* Muqtada as-Sadr, son of Sadr II, son-in-law of Sadr I, and great grand nephew of Mohammad as-Sadr. In 2004 he led an uprising against American forces in Iraq. He heads a large militia and wields great influence in contemporary Iraqi politics.
