Sally Floyd

Sally Floyd is a fictional reporter in the Marvel Comics universe.

Character History

Sally Floyd first appeared as a writer for The Alternative, a newspaper, right after "M-Day", the day on which millions of mutant lost their special abilities. It has also been revealed that she had a daughter, Minnie, who died as a result of a tragic mutation that caused her to grow younger and younger. This event caused Sally's drinking problem.

Taking over from fellow reporter Jessica Jones, Sally investigated these M-Day cases. She wrote about well-known mutants who lost their powers, mutants such as Chamber, Danielle Moonstar, the Blob and Marrow. Sally also worked with former X-Man, Jubilee, another depowered mutant. She also met Warren Wortington Archangel who pretended to be depowered as well. Warren and Sally had a relationship earlier on and when Sally finally published the fact about her child, Minnie, which was a mutant who began to grow younger instead of older from birth on, Warren who had once left her, felt towards her and tried to comfort her.

During these interviews, Sally also got to meet the X-Men and helped them put mutant murderer Ghoul into custody. After this victory, Sally gained the strength to attend an AA meeting and began recovering from alcoholism.

Sally continues to be an active reporter. She spoke to Spider-Man right before he unmasked himself to the world. Spider-Man stated that Sally is one of three reporters he could trust. In Civil War: Front Line #2, Sally shared an interview with former New Warrior, Firestar and protested when Iron Man violently apprehended Prodigy (altough Iron Man was trying to talk to the drunken Prodigy in order to work out something when Prodigy attacked him), a super-hero who also was against the Registration Act. Sally is strongly opposed to the registration act and is embedded with Captain America's Anti-Registration forces.
