Schloss Neuwaldegg

Schloss Neuwaldegg is a baroque palace in Vienna 1.

The palace was build around 1715, most probably under architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. In 1765 field marshall Franz Moritz Graf von Lacy bought the estate. After his death, the princely Schwarzenberg family bought the palace and the enormous park. However, over time the building and the gardens fell into a state of general neglect. It has been renovated. There are two obelisks located in the ‘'Schwarzenbergallee'' (alley), along with a number of statues of Greek gods.

Notes

1 The address is at Waldegghofgasse 5, in the XVII. district Hernals.
