Shenlong, Earth's Dragon

Shenlong (神龍; literally god dragon; called Shenron in the dub), is a magical dragon from the manga Dragon Ball and the anime Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. In the English dub of Dragonball Z, he is alternatly called the Eternal Dragon and in the early Harmony Gold English Dragon Ball English dub from the 1980s, it is known as a Dragon God.

Shenlong can be summoned by gathering all seven of the Dragon Balls of Earth. It can bestow any wish as long as it does not exceed the power of its creator, who must be still alive (i.e. Kami/Piccolo Or Dende). Shenlong possibly cannot repeat a wish. He cannot make someone fall in love or die. The Dragon Balls cannot be used for one Earth year after a wish is made, as they turn to stone. The Earth Dragonballs are relatively small, each about the size of a large orange.

The Shenlong of the Black Star Dragonballs is red, opposed to the Shenlong of Earth is Green.

Unlike Porunga, Shenlong can only grant one wish per summoning, until Dende upgrades them to grant 2 wishes.

In Dragonball GT, an evil Shenlong known as Black Smoke Shenron is made from the cracked Dragon Balls, which later splits into individual dragons. Goku and company are significantly inconvenienced and must battle them.
