Thatcher is a surname, meaning one who makes or repairs thatched roofs.
*Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990. Her husband was Sir Denis Thatcher. Her children are twins Sir Mark Thatcher and Hon. Carol Thatcher.
*Ross Thatcher was Premier of Saskatchewan from 1964 to 1971. Also, his son, Colin Thatcher was a Saskatchewan cabinet minister from 1982 to 1983. Four days after resigning from cabinet he was charged with murdering his wife and subsequently convicted.
*Thatcher (profession) is a person who roofs buildings with reeds or straw.
