ToHeart2 was first released on the PlayStation 2 after much fanfare. Although set in the same high school as
ToHeart, the game featured a brand new set of characters two years after the original cast graduated. Numerous changes were made to the costumes, while the character design was also tweaked to bring it in line with the art style of today. Unlike its predicessor, it featured full voice acting from the very first version of the game.
A thirteen episode anime series was produced based on the game. All the voice actors from the game returned to provide their talents to the anime.

There are numerous differences between ToHeart2 and
ToHeart.
LogoThere has been a slight redesign in the lettering of 'ToHeart'. The new logo is straight text instead of being slightly curved at the edges, and the positioning of the heart has been moved to the left. The colour scheme has also been tweaked slightly, but the rainbow gradient in the text remains unchanged.
UniformsThey have been given a redesign, with a larger, fluffier bow and a triangular collar.

An ongoing anthology of dojin manga, the animation style and story differs from artist to artist. More than one publisher complies and prints these collections, but they are the same in scope despite the differences.
On 2005/10/6,
animate.tv/
Frontier Works started a web radio show called 'Radio ToHeart2', using voices from the video game.
On
December 12 2005,
Aquaplus announced that it would release all source code to ToHeart2 along with several of its games because of a violation of the GPL:
*『ToHeart2 XRATED』
*『アルルゥとあそぼ
(ランチャとRoutesミニシナリオのみ)』:*"Aruru to asobo | (Playing with Aruru). Launcher and Routes mini-game." *『Tears To Tiara』 *『鎖-クサリ-』:*"Chain - medicine"
The games themselves had used source code from the XViD codec in addition to using the codec for compressing videos. They had violated the GPL by not releasing the source code, and on December 22 2005, Aquaplus confirmed on their website ([1] - in Japanese only) that their source code would be available for 600 yen via CD-R. It is not possible to actually play the game even after compiling the code, as the source files are not included.America
Since ToHeart2 hasn't been and will never be officially released in the U.S., the game has received comparatively little exposure; however, that hasn't stopped some of its characters, and Kousaka Tamaki in particular, to have an American cult following. Tamaki's followers are particularly prevalent at the 4chan web board, where pictures of her (often accompanied by the phrase "Tama-nee is a healthy girl.") are immensely popular, some users giving her names like "the patron saint of /e/" or "the new Rei Ayanami". *Leaf *Renai ADV *Bishōjo game *List of television shows based on video games*Official ToHeart2 Site *Official ToHeart2 XRATED Site *Official ToHeart2 TV Animation Site *Aquaplus Website *Radio ToHeart2 homepage *ToHeart2 translation project *A site with a guide/FAQ (albeit incomplete) for the game *ToHeart2 game information (Japanese)*[2] Aquaplus officially announces source code will be available via mail *[3] Leaf agrees to release source code (in Japanese only)
