Wentloog (hundred)

The cantref or hundred of Wentloog is a division of the traditional county of Monmouthshire. It is situated in the western part of the county, and is bounded on the north by Brecknockshire; on the east by the hundreds of Abergavenny, Usk and Caldicot; on the south by the Bristol Channel, and on the west by Glamorganshire. The proper Welsh name for the region is Gwynllwg.

It contains the following ancient parishes:

*Bassaleg: consisting of Duffryn township, Graig hamlet and Rogerstone township

*Coedkernew
*Henllys
*Llanfihangel Llantarnam
*Llanhilleth
