Westville, KwaZulu-Natal

Westville is a town in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa that is situated inland between Durban and Pinetown. It now forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which also includes Durban. The town was laid out on the farm Westville (named in honour of Martin West, the British lieutenant-governor of Natal) which started in 1847.

Westville is a fast growing decentralised hub of Durban. Westville is well known as an academic town and has well regarded schools such as Westville Boys' High School and Westville Senior Primary School. A 2 square kilometre campus of University of KwaZulu-Natal (former University of Durban-Westville) is situated at Westville.

Several churches and mosques exist to prove the religiosity of the Westville people. Of these, the Westville Baptist Church and St Elizabeth's Anglican Church are two of the most prominent.

Westville is home to the shopping complex The Pavilion. The Pavilion is one of the largest shopping centres in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
