Wheldrake

Wheldrake is a village in the city of York, North Yorkshire, England. It is located seven miles south-east of York.

According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,909. Prior to 1996 it had been part of the Selby district.

It contains St Helen's church and a pub called The Wenlock Arms. The village is also contacting the government for plans to erect a basketball court at the village hall, to give local kids something to do. The local school is attempting to raise £90K for a new building as the catchment area has seen an increase in the number of younger children current building is too small. They have raised £10000 so far.
