Whitestone

Whitestone cheese is one of the New Zealand South Island's main cheese companies. Whitestone make about a dozen different specialist cheeses, the most well-known of which is Whitestone Brie. other varieties made include Waitaki Camembert, Whitestone Farmhouse, Windsor Blue, Moeraki Bay Blue, Manuka Feta, and four sheep's milk cheeses (notably Monte Cristo).

The company is based in Oamaru, and takes its name from the limestone known as Oamaru stone which is quarried locally. The company takes pride in the fact that the cheeses are entirely organic, with no artificial additives and milk from livestock raised on organically farmed pasture.
