Winterley

Winterley is a small village in South Cheshire, North West England, with a population of no more than a few hundred.

It is based mainly around Crewe Road, which directly links nearby towns Crewe and Sandbach. It is a quiet, pleasant village that rarely sees any trouble and is within a sensible distance of larger communities.

Amenities

Winterley's amenities include The Foresters Arms and The Holly Bush Inn pubs, Swan Lake Chinese Take-Away and Winterley Pool fishing lake. Winterley also has a Methodist Church and a Post Office. Most children go to primary schools in nearby Haslington, such as Dingle C.P. School or Haslington Primary and have secondary education in either Sandbach or Crewe, most commonly Sandbach School (boys) and Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College(girls).

Pubs

The Foresters Arms is a nice, cosy Tetley's pub that serves good traditional meals and often has the fire going in the winter. It has a car park to the rear, behind which is a children's play area. It hosts weekly 'Quiz' and 'Open The Box' nights and is popular with the locals.

The Holly Bush Inn has seen its share of troubles in recent years. It was once a very popular establishment with residents of Winterley and nearby towns and villages, but through a series of management changes its popularity faded. After an unfortunate fire that left the building in near-ruin, the pub is under new ownership and seems to be back on its feet again, once again serving quality food.

Swan Lake Chinese

The Swan Lake Chinese Restaurant and Take-Away serves excellent Chinese food and is very popular to residents of Winterley and nearby towns and villages, especially on a Friday or Saturday night.

Winterley Pool

Winterley Pool is a fishing lake that serves as the centre-point to Winterley. There are two pools to fish at; the larger front pool and the smaller Match Pool to the rear. The large main pool reaches right to the pavement and is popular for visitors to feed the many Swans and Canada Geese that reside there.

Methodist Church
