Experience
As an attorney for the Center for Individual Rights, I worked on a number of free speech cases, including Rosenberger v. Univ. of Virginia, in which the Supreme Court upheld my clients' right to run a student newspaper without discrimination because of its religious conent. I also worked on White v. Julian, which protected the right of people to protest against a homeless shelter in their neighborhood.
I also worked for the Federal Election Commission on several cases regarding the right to participate in the election process.

Question
I have a friend who is 25 now and doing good in life. Well when he was 21 he slept with a 15 year old and got her pregnant in California. At the time, he didn't know that she got pregnant. Anyhow, about 2 years after the baby was born she didn't bother to call him to let him know the baby was his. But by then my friend had moved out of state already. Eventually, he moves back to California to find out that he has some child support issues...Now he is in deep trouble or whats the worst case scenario that could happen to him?????

Hi Chris,
This question really has nothing to do with the First Amendment, and I am not a particluar expert it such issues, but your friend would certainly be liable for child support, including possibly back support. It is also possible he could be prosecuted for statutory rape.
