Answer
Hi Lorena, and sorry to hear about your situation.

This really is not a free speech question and is really not my area of expertise.  Even if it was, I can't really provide any specific legal advise in this forum.

However, you may want to check the State law in your State to see if your boyfriend is even in trouble.  In most States, the age of consent is 16.  Also, many States have rules that if the couple are within three years of each other that is legal too.  You may want to check this web site to get a better idea of the laws in your State:

I hope this helps!

Experience

As an attorney for the Center for Individual Rights, I worked on a number of free speech cases, including Rosenberger v. Univ. of Virginia, in which the Supreme Court upheld my clients' right to run a student newspaper without discrimination because of its religious conent. I also worked on White v. Julian, which protected the right of people to protest against a homeless shelter in their neighborhood.

I also worked for the Federal Election Commission on several cases regarding the right to participate in the election process.
